The Vast Ocean Season 3 returns the viewer to the world of student freedom, summer sun and sea, which can be both a holiday and a test. The characters are no longer novices, and so diving becomes more than just a nice backdrop, but a part of their lives, where discipline and safety are suddenly as important as having fun. The season continues its signature balance of wild parties, friendly banter, and moments of genuine support when one awkward guy or one stubborn girl suddenly becomes the one to pull others out of a real hole. This time, growing up is felt more strongly: someone is thinking about the future, someone is faced with jealousy and understatement, and someone for the first time understands that friendship also requires responsibility. The sea episodes give the story volume, because under water the heroes are left alone with their breath, fears and beauty that cannot be faked. The series pleases in that it knows how to laugh loudly, but does not turn the characters into empty clowns, and under the comedy it hides respect for dreams, for work and for that special lightness that can be difficult to maintain after youth.
